From 4 to 6 November 2025, Fira Barcelona Gran Via hosted Smart City Expo World Congress, the leading international event on cities and urban innovation. Pysae exhibited at booth F168, with a team of three on site to present its real-time operations and passenger information platform for bus networks.
The Time for Cities
The 2025 edition was organised under the theme "The Time for Cities" and closed with record figures: more than 27,000 attendees from 143 countries and over 1,100 exhibitors. The congress focused on how cities can lead urban transformation using technologies such as artificial intelligence, with a strong emphasis on sustainable and people-centred solutions.
Smart City Expo was held alongside Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress, organised with EIT Urban Mobility, which brought public transport and mobility topics to the centre of the programme. Rome was named Smart City of 2025 at the World Smart City Awards.
Three days of conversations
Over three days, the Pysae team met city representatives, transport authorities, operators and technology partners from more than 15 countries, in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. Our interactive presentation table made it easy to walk visitors through the platform, from vehicle tracking to passenger information.
The conversations converged on one point: there is no future for urban mobility without reliable real-time passenger information. Whether the network is a large metropolitan system or a mid-sized city launching its first real-time service, the same needs came up again and again:
- Accurate vehicle positions, shared with passengers in apps, at stops and on board.
- Open data that can feed trip planners and MaaS platforms.
- Fast deployment, without heavy onboard hardware or long integration projects.
