The story

Morzine is one of France's top alpine resorts. Every winter, 50,000+ tourists arrive expecting urban-level transport quality. The network is built from scratch each November and wound down each April.

Our passengers are international tourists who expect the same digital transport experience they have at home. With Pysae, we give them real-time information from day one of the season.

Portes du Soleil

The context: a network built from scratch every November

Morzine, Haute-Savoie, at the heart of the Portes du Soleil — 12 resorts, 600km of runs. In winter, 3,000 permanent residents are joined by over 50,000 international tourists at peak periods.

The challenge: 50,000 tourists, a 5-month window, no permanent infrastructure

Seasonal transport at resort scale creates unique challenges.

  • New team every season: drivers and regulators operational within days
  • International passengers expecting multilingual real-time info on their phones
  • Alpine weather creating frequent disruptions to communicate instantly
  • Demand spikes on powder days and school holidays

The solution: deployed in days, urban-grade information

Pysae was chosen for its deployment speed. No lengthy installation. The platform is live within days of the season opening.

  • Tourist-facing passenger app: real-time shuttle positions, next departures
  • QR codes at every stop: scan and see the next bus, no app download
  • Instant incident alerts when a route is disrupted by weather
  • Clean season-end shutdown, reactivated next November with all data retained

Results

  • 5 months active season
  • 50K+ tourists per winter
  • Day 1 operational at season opening
