The story

COOP30 is a cooperative of 21 independent SME bus operators in the Gard department. Together they run the LIO Gard regional network on a single Pysae AVM, with 500 coaches, 600 staff and 50 depots.

Pysae is a powerful tool that lets us analyse the punctuality of our lines and improve stop times, keep our passengers better informed about day-to-day disruptions and answer their complaints more easily.

Anne Raynal, Director of Operations, COOP Voyageurs 30

Who is COOP30? 21 SME bus operators, one regional network

COOP30 covers the whole Gard, from Nîmes, Alès and Le Vigan to the most isolated rural areas of the Cévennes. It operates the LIO Gard network (Occitanie regional interurban lines) through 3 contract lots covering the department, with 1,000 trips a day in school term and 250 during holidays.

Why did 21 operators need one real-time platform?

Before Pysae, trip coordination and incident handling relied on phone and radio. The cooperative had four priorities:

  • Reliable real-time passenger information across a large, varied territory
  • One common tool shared by the 21 member companies
  • Handling disruptions on an interurban network: weather, demonstrations, roadworks
  • Tracking every trip to answer passenger complaints precisely

One AVM deployment across 21 fleets

Pysae deployed its AVM (SAEIV) with all 21 COOP30 members:

  • Real-time GPS tracking of the whole fleet
  • Instant messaging between dispatchers and drivers
  • Automatic passenger alerts for delays and route changes
  • Passenger app showing coach positions in real time
  • On-board passenger information system

How did the AVM handle the January 2024 farmers' protest?

In January 2024, a farmers' protest caused major disruption to COOP30 routes. With Pysae, the cooperative adjusted routes in real time and informed drivers and passengers quickly. The passenger app recorded more than 3,000 connections a day, double the daily average. Route changes went straight into the system, and drivers received clear instructions through internal messaging.

Results: 21 operators, 1,500 daily app connections

  • 21 operators on one AVM platform
  • 1,500 daily passenger app connections
  • 3,000 connections a day at disruption peaks
