The Régie des Transports de l'Ain (RDTA), founded in 1919, runs urban, interurban and seasonal lines in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes with close to 530 vehicles. It uses Pysae AVM for real-time passenger information and to train seasonal drivers quickly.
Pysae helps us enormously to communicate on delays and temporary detours, especially during school holidays when demand peaks. The tool is also essential to quickly train the drivers who join our network each season.
A 530-vehicle network with seasonal peaks
The fleet includes both heavy and light vehicles. It is heavily used for seasonal services, especially to resorts such as Le Grand-Bornand and La Clusaz, where demand surges during school holidays. Running everything from regular urban lines to seasonal lines requires constant adaptation and real-time supervision.
What did the Régie need from an AVM?
- Real-time passenger information across a wide variety of lines
- Fast communication between drivers and dispatchers over a large territory
- Quick onboarding of temporary drivers on seasonal lines
- Better punctuality through accurate, up-to-date data
Real-time tracking, GPS guidance and a driver training mode
- Real-time vehicle tracking: every vehicle is located continuously, giving dispatchers a full view of the network
- Live passenger information on departure times, delays and disruptions
- Built-in GPS guidance adapted to each route, including for seasonal drivers
- Dedicated training mode so new drivers learn their lines before taking service
Results: better punctuality and fewer complaints
Since Pysae went live, the Régie reports better punctuality, fewer customer complaints, smoother seasonal driver training, and AVM access for partner authorities (region and departments).
- 530 vehicles managed by the Régie
- 62% of the fleet already covered by digital solutions
- 1,000 daily passenger connections at peak periods
