Keolis Thionville operates the TeMo Moselle Nord network (formerly SMiTU Thionville-Fensch), with 120 vehicles serving the Thionville area in north-eastern France. TeMo chose Pysae AVM to modernise operations and passenger information, and 73% of trips were tracked on launch day.
We asked ourselves where to start to improve our employees' working conditions, give information to our passengers and bring some transparency. We compared what was available and Pysae ticked almost every box, from operations management to passenger information. It is an ergonomic product, simple to roll out, and drivers welcomed it.
A 120-vehicle network in the Grand-Est
Close to the borders with Luxembourg and Germany, TeMo plays a central role in daily mobility around Thionville. Before Pysae, the network ran on a Lumiplan passenger information system.
Why replace the existing passenger information system?
- Modernisation: replace an ageing system with a more modern, reliable tool
- Accurate real-time information: give passengers updated, precise times
- Attractiveness: make the network more appealing to residents
The new AVM also had to integrate with the existing tools: driver scheduling software, Lumiplan passenger information, Kuba Pay ticketing and the GTFS-RT format.
How was the AVM rolled out on the first day of school?
The Pysae and TeMo teams launched the system on the first day of the school year. It was the network's first AVM across all lines, with demanding requirements, and two on-site visits supported team training.
- Integrated AVM connected to driver scheduling, Lumiplan and Kuba Pay
- Driver app for service tracking and incident handling
- Real-time passenger information published as GTFS-RT
Results: 73% of trips tracked from day one
A few weeks after deployment, timetables are more reliable, passengers see their trips more clearly, and service tracking and incident handling are simpler for the operations team.
- 120 vehicles on the network
- 73% of trips tracked on launch day
- 2 on-site training visits
